James, San Jose, CA says:
Yes, the state has created a dire financial circumstance with no easy short or long term solutions. Shouldn't the obvious statewide devastation of politically motivated free rides for so many illegal aliens, in and out of prison, be addressed before the California tax paying work force is slapped in the face yet again? BTW,simply by aggressively and punitively ($$)enforcing the cell phone law on our highways would be a major, short term (hopefully people would get it at some point) source of income.
Michael, Carlsbad, CA says:
The state needs to learn how to control itself and stop growing its bloated and pork-laden budgets instead of punishing the citizens of the state because of a failure of legislature to properly legislate.
Brian Chevalier, San Mateo, California says:
Hey, You guys up there in Sacramento, Yeah you...Stop spending so much of the tax payers money..If I had $1000.00 dollars, I couldn't spend more than that amount to buy something, unless I wanted to be in debt. That's what you all are doing, you are spending way more than we have and you've been doing it for a very, very long time..It's now time to stop it!
Ron Davis, Westchester, Ca says:
Stop your reckless spending. Start considering all of your constiuents not only the public sector unions that you have continually enriched at my expense. Repeal the additional 10% withholding tax!
Patricia, Riverside, CA says:
They actually need to take a 25% paycut!
Peggy, Sacramento, Ca says:
Take away all the special perks for the politicians and our debts would be greatly reduced. Make them pay for things the same way we do - cars, gas, office supplies, etc. Too much money is spent on them now. Stop taxing us to death!!
Steve, Lake Forest, CA says:
2010, hear we come. You are out! Tell your Sierra Nevada club friends no more! You are all F-ing Crooks!
Karen, North Highlands, ca says:
Why should I pay for your screwup
Tina Harvey, NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA says:
ENOUGH MONEY COULD BE MADE BY LEGALIZING POT AND ENOUGH MONEY SAVED IF THOSE "SERVING" THE PEOPLE TOOK A 10% PAY CUT INSTEAD OF ADDITIONAL RAISES AND PERKS THAT THIS TOPIC SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAD TO BE SUGGESTED.
Steve, Carlsbad, CA says:
2010 is eleven months away. Just keep on doing what you are doing. We need to wake up the rest of the sleeping giant that the pinhead Sacramento politicians have abused for decades. You are about to experience a level of righteous fury unheard of since 1776 in this state and country. California is about to experience a house-cleansing of biblical proportions. Oh.. and... Goodbye Barbara Boxer, Hello Chuck Devore.
Paul - Prying1, Inglewood, CA says:
It seems that politicians of today think the people serve them and not that THEY SERVE THE PEOPLE! Any Californian politician that is NOT SCREAMING about FRAUD in the halls of THE PEOPLE'S state house is complicit in that FRAUD!!! Personally I think that tar, feathers and rails are in order. AND after the bums are run out of Sacramento give them a shopping cart to pick up bottles and cans for a living. Help the environment and help our state.
Richard, Lakewood, CA says:
Politicians and Government show no accountability. If we make poor decisions on our jobs or businesses we take the brunt of it and learn the lesson. These people should all be fired and people who know what it means to be fiscally responsible "before" the fact, not "after" the fact. This is unacceptable and moronic and it shows the level of intelligence and depth of thievery of the elected officials.
Kimberly, Lan, C says:
Like London and France, Californians need to stand up for what is right. The older I get the more I wonder how long we as LEGAL citizens will allow the Goverment to mislead us??????????????
Kimberly, Lancaster , California says:
This is unfair because a huge portion of money is already taken from me by the state of california futher more for the hard work I put forth every day, nothing is every given back to me. When my taxes are filed I don't even get back half of what is taken, my family and I go through hard times through-out the year, and I have a hard time making a living off what I am paid and now more. THIS IS UNFAIR! California STOP taking and NOT GIVING BACK we should not pay for this and every thing else too.
Kimbelrey, Redding, CA says:
I work hard for a paycheck that is already barley enough to support me and my family and now you want to take more of my hard earned money becasue you cannot budget things correctly. There are so many other places money is is being wasted on people that don't even work to support themselves let alone another person, take the money from them or from public funds for trees in parks etc. not from hard working citizens taht have childern to support.
L Arry, SUISUN, CA says:
The legislators in Ca.have literally ruined the business climate and are making taxpayers pay for their legal ignorance and ineptitude. Term limits and yearly audits for those elected are in great need as well as a part time state government.
Rico, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA says:
It time to vote out all the Losers that is running our state
Debra, Napa, Calif says:
Listen to people for once. CLOSE BOARDERS, CUT THE GUYS AT THE TOP IN GOVERNMENT THAT MAKE OVER $70,000 A YEAR BECAUSE NONE OF YOU ARE WORTH IT. TAKE AWAY GOV'S CARS,CREDIT CARDS, PERKS, STOP RAISING OUR TAXES AND STOP GIVING MONEY TO THE GREEDY BANKS THAT PUT US ALL IN THIS MESS TO BEGIN WITH. THEN WE MIGHT SURVIVE THIS, WAKE UP!!!
Debbie, NAPA, CALIF says:
START WORKING FOR THE PEOPLE INSTEAD OF AGAINST US. THE GOVERNMENT IS RUINING OUR COUNTRY
Esther, Walnut, CA says:
Cut Spending! Too many state workers are getting paid for sitting around.
Jill Wade, Lebec, California says:
It's obviouse that we all need to cut back. But the rules are different for people with power. In my house when I don't absalutely need it I don't get it. Power allows themself to have whatever they want when they want it. An open credit card mentality is for spoiled kids and we the parents have to flip the bill and are forced to become powerless in our own homes. We should't be forced to live with this double standards. How much more oppression can we take.
Adrianne, Pasadena, CA says:
Check it out
Joel, Pasadena, CA says:
I barely can live off my paycheck as it is now.
Maritza Tolmasoff, pico rivera, ca says:
Please stop taking our hard working money!!
Malcolm & Andrea, Calistoga, CA says:
The only acceptable solution to CA budget problems is to cut spending across the board. You go here overspending and either cut or we will fire you.
Olga, BALDWIN PARK, CA says:
COME ON, MORE TAXES, WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TRYING TO DO. SINK US EVEN MORE.
Ramon, Chino, CA says:
Let's stand up to our money-hungry politicans!!! www.ReformCal.com
Lucy , Watts, Ca says:
All politicians just want to start cutting or collecting from the bottom, why don't they start making adjustments from the top starting with all the top paid government officials to show an example that they really care?
Jill, napa, ca says:
Think of how much Ca will need to raise taxes if the Health Care bill goes through - the Feds/Congress plans to shift a lot of the medicare burden to the State (in effort to cut the cost of the H.Care bill), which means we pay it,we will pay all the new charges to the businesses, and pay all the new fees, taxes under the H. C. bill. Oh, don't forget the new taxes, direct and indirect, under California version of cap and trade. Despite the cover being blown off the CO2/global warming farce (not yet reported in the main stream media - just search "climategate")
Jeff, CA, 94558 says:
This tax raid is caused in part by the years and years of the Fox guarding the Hen House in Sacramento: Public Employee Unions giving campaign contributions to Politicians who then pay State Union Employees excessive salaries and unconsionable and unsustainable Pensions and Benefits. It is time to immedately stop the Excessive Pensions for Government Workers, that is bankrupting the State!
Tom, Rio Linda, California says:
We need to stop them NOW while they are only over-collecting by 10%. If they get away with this, next year they will want 50 or 100% too much. If we let this stand, we will regret -- sooner rather than later!
Janet, Napa, Ca says:
We have to live within our means and balance our budgets. The politicians answer is to keep growing the government and raise taxes. Time they got spending under control.
Eddie, NORWALK, CALIFORNIA says:
WHY DON'T ALL THE POLITICIANS TAKE A 10% PAYCUT TO COVER THE COST I MEAN YOU GUYS MAKE 10X MORE THAN I DO!!
Carlos, los angeles, california says:
PLEASE UNDERSTAND HOW HARD IT IS TO EARN MONEY. DO NOT MAKE OUR STATE MORE DANGEROUS TO LIVE IN.
Chad, Fountain Valley, CA says:
TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE! WE DO HAVE THE POWER! WE CAN START WITH CALIFORNIA'S TWO SENATORS THAT HAVE BEEN IF OFFICE SO LONG THEY THINK THEY ARE UNTOUCHABLE. SHOW THEM THEY ARE NOT AND VOTE THEM OUT!
Ed, Costa Mesa, Ca says:
What did our Founders do? That's right they launched a tax revolt first. If we all sent the Governor and key leaders a letter which said I am going to delay my property tax payment until you remove this 10% tax that would be a shot heard around the world. Just threaten to do it in a letter it will cost nothing. Faxes, calling, rallys, voting, PAC donations have not worked. But threaten a tax revolt. A real one. That worked in Boston Harbor and it will work here.
Lourdes, Rosemead , California says:
I vote "NO" We are just making it to pay bills you want us to take an additonal 10%. (Come On Now!)
Lourdes, Rosemead , California says:
I vote "NO" We are just making it to pay bills you want us to take an additonal 10%. (Come On Now!)
Roy, Tehachapi, CA says:
This is taxation without representation. We need to remove the liberal skunks in Sacramento and replace them with conservative representatives who are fiscally responsible.
Winston, Vista, California says:
I think it's time to start from scratch, considering those in office can't seem to figure things out.
David R., Oceanside, Calif. says:
I remember when our new Gov said he had $350M in his pool so why would he need to use special or even get a raise
Vlad, Los Angeles, CA says:
I vote "NO". My opinion is that people made this wrong decision to increase taxes, ALL must be removed from office!
Marlene, San Diego, Ca says:
Please, be responsible to the youth of our state. We are creating a debit for them to deal with that is not there decision or will.
Joe, Whittier, CA says:
Time to vote out these Socialist politicians. I can't wait until 2010. Lets show them what power is all about!!!
Lizzy, Downey, CA says:
I think that "WE, the People" should all chip in and hire Gloria Allred to represent us in suing the state for stealing money out of our pockets. This is unconstitutional, it's communism. Political Thieves!!! There's looting going on inside our government and it's out of control!!! Ten percent today, when most families are losing their homes, not because of bad loans but because of job losses and higher taxes. Where's our Democracy? Who's in charge here??? We can write and talk all we want, but what is the solution. Someone please help!!!
Carol, yorba linda, ca says:
STOP TAXING US TO SOCIALISM
Robert, villa park, ca says:
In these troubled times we need all the money we earn. We the people keep the economy rolling. You in Sacramento and Washington keep putting the brakes on with your out of control spending.
Jeffrey, Corona, CA says:
The citizens of this state need to wake up and realize that Sacramento is only full of the people/crackpots we continue to send. Its about time people pay attention to their local ballots.
Maria, San Diego, CA says:
Instead of increasing taxes or increase withholding, I believe you should find a way to tax internet sales. Consider how many purchases are made through the internet, the state could make millions of dollars if did this!
Kathleen, Corona, CA says:
Increase of our tax is more than double taxiation, which is illegal. You can put it into action, however, there are better ways. Like cutting junk spending. Call me, I will tell you about my experiences with paper trails that cause you billions in time, w/c, supplies and my money. I vote NO and I mean NO!
Catalina, Daly City, California says:
Enough is enough...stop robbing us of our hard-earned money for our retirement. Stop double taxing our social security benefit. This is a very unfair practice because we already paid tax on the contributions we made towards our social security and now that we are receiving the benefit, we are being taxed again. If you want to help the illegal aliens, nobody could stop you but don't get it from us, the poor taxpayers, GET IT FROM YOUR OWN POCKETS and from the pockets of those who support your idea.
Clark, Clovis, CA says:
STOP RAISING TAXES. WE SPEND MORE WITH LOWER TAXES CUT YOUR SPENDING!!!
Darlene Mariucci, San Mateo, California says:
Why should I,a 62 year old waitress, have to pay extra TAXES due to LIBERAL SPending AND FAVORTISM TO ALL THE UNIONS, the very ones who have put this state in the place it is now in due to their refusal to bend or compromise in any fashion and the legislature only interested in keeping the UNIONS VOTES for their party!! Not looking out for our rights and the states best interest!! The next voting cycle will bring CHANGE CHANGE WE CNTROL THE PEOPLE NOT THE UNIONS OR THE SPEND SPEND PEOPLE!!! YOUR NOT TO BIG TO FAIL!!!
Patty, san carlos, ca says:
this is is called theft...i dont authorize you to take this money from me! you are all going to loose your jobs if our vote still have any power at all. at least thats what would happen to us if we misused funds like you do. the people need to take back America!!!!
Dennis, Laguna HILLS, CA, AKA NO MONEY says:
LOOKS LIKE IT IS TIME TO TURN US BACK TO BAJA CA

If you are a Democrat and will be voting for the Republican candidate in the next election, you talk about change, well that's what we need "CHANGE"
Mary , Redwood City, CA says:
2010 will go down in history, when American's took back their country and said not anymore you don't!! This time you will listen to the people!!
John, Anaheim, California says:
Come on. We all KNOW that it is impossible to improve the state's coffers through excessive taxation. We are way past the breaking point and this additional tax imposition will only lead to further self-deportation of formerly prosperous businesses and business owners to more business-friendly states. Politician, legislate thyself.
Charlie, Glendale, CA says:
Vote out ALL incumbents. Gridlock sucks (the money out of your paycheck).
Matt, Carlsbad, CA says:
I believe every politicians compensation should be based on a rating system that their constituents fill out. Right now, they get paid and receive benefits and aren't doing their job. If they realized that they had to actually serve our interests or face the consequence of not being paid, we would weed out all of the disingenuous politicians. Something needs to be done...
Thomas, Vacavile, California says:

Megan, Escondido, CA says:
I would like to see politicians have to work for the money they make. The general public works really hard for what we have. Take a cut in your paycheck. You are the ones creating the problem.
Karen, Laguna hills, Ca says:
This is sinful. I will work as hard as I can to get everyone who has not worked to balance this budget and agreed to this out of office. Clean sweep!!we expect the same from you as we have had to do
Leonor, sacto, ca says:
Utterly unbelievable! And when we can find honest Americans to run for office again, that care about our country and state,(and know our history) we will be keeping America The Great!
Janna, Manteca, California says:
Since when does living beyond your means on borrowed money (and time I might add) result in success, prosperity, stability, and HOPE for the future. Let's all grow up and do the right thing to ensure that the days that lie ahead will provide a wealth of opportunity for lives full of meaning and contentment for those we love.
Sandra, veague, california says:
My husband and I owned our own construction company. As of Feb we had to close the doors after 10 yrs of hard work!!! Our sons were able to find work but how does a 58 year old man find work after being his own boss? Who wants too hire him?? How am I expected to support us on my $20.00 an hour. Garrett, Torrance, CA says:
I have made a committment to myself to vote for anyone other than the incumbent from now on. If they are in office now, they need to go.
Balweg, chula vista, california says:
DONOT SPEND BEYOND YOUR MEANS!!IF THE LEGISLATORS CANNOT UNDERSTAND THIS BASIC CONCEPT, THEN.. THEY DONT HAVE BUSINESS MANAGING OUR STATE FINANCIAL AFFAIR.THEY SHOULD ALL RESIGN.AND LETS AMEND OUR CONSTITUTION AND MAKE THEIR POSITION A PART TIME JOB.PLS. FORGET YOUR POLITICAL AFFILATION AND DO WHAT IS BEST FOR CALIFORNIA....ADDITONAL 10% WITHHOLDING IS UNJUST, PEOPLE ARE ALREADY HURTING AND THIS WILL BE POLITICAL HARAKIRI FOR INCUMBENT POLITICIANS ON THE NEXT ELECTION...
Ron, Foster City, CA says:
The ONLY reason this is going out to you , is because you live in this state, and will be required to give an additional 10% of the amount you already pay, as a gift to the state. Let me ask you, when you fall behind on your bills and obligations, who do you run to to help you? Please spread the word, regardless of your stance politically. Can you afford to bail these people out who recklessly spent your hard earned money? Carolyn, Bakersfield, California says:
What is it about this administration and our State elected officials that they don't understand. How simple it would be to be like Arizona and tell the illegals that "WE ARE NOT GOING TO SUPPORT YOU...." They do not give them food stamps, do not give them welfare and housing...no free lunches there. IF only America would be serious and close our borders to the illegals, deny them our benefits which many of our own cannot afford and take care of our own, we wouldn't have the healthcare crisis...we wouldn't have the education crisis...we wouldn't have the deficit that we now have. Why don't they see this???? Allowing mothers TO walk across the bridge into the San Diego area and enroll their children into our schools is unreal...any why do we allow it??? BECAUSE YOU AND I PAY TAXES AND SOME OF THOSE TAXES PAY FOR EACH CHILD WHO ATTENDS A SCHOOL--NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE OR IF THEY ARE LEGAL OR ILLEGAL...where is the sense in this? CLOSE THE BORDERS...get real...protect our State and our country. Our politicians make all of us want to leave California and live somewhere where people do not have to be bilingual in order to get a job...shame on cALIFORNIA AND AMERICA! We're losing our country and losing it fast. LET'S DEMAND AN END TO THIS!

Tom, woodland hills, ca. says:
where did all the money go ? at least with gray davis we know it was stolen by enron. which one of you is stealing now or is just incomptent wasteful spending. if you keep shutting down education opportunities you will never get the math right!
David, Westlake Village, c says:
When will these people learn???? It is not their money. There is a reason companies and families are leaving Ca in groves.
Marcy, Danville, CA says:
First we vote NO to raising taxes...then Sacto adjusts the tax brackets down so they can collect more money from us...now this...just WHO do they think they are fooling. They ALL must be removed from office!
Suzy, Napa, CA says:
I am a state worker and already have to give up 15% of my pay because of the three furlough days we are required to take. I am a single person and live very frugally and am having a difficult time making it. I am worried about my grown kids because they are raising a family....If I'm having a hard time they are having a worse time....we the people of California need to speak up and take this state back!
Robert, Bellflower, CA says:
Let's get the facts straight! We can all sit and complain about how this 10% increase will hurt us individually, but lets look at the BIG picture. California, under the Liberal leadership of Arnie, has raised the income tax rate to the highest in the country. For people making ove $1 million per year the new rate will be 10.55%. That is not the problem. The problem is that the next cut off point is %94,110 for married filers and a meager 47,055 for single filers. They are required to pay a staggering 9.55% income tax rate. Absolutely rediculous!!!! There is NO tax increases between %47,000 and $1 million. And guess where most of the polaticians and their "kronies" fall into the mix? The next highest tax bracket in the country is Rhode Island where the maximum taxation happens at 9.9% for people making OVER $357,700. Just goes to show what the legistators and Govenor of California think of it's citizens. They think that we are stupid and that we will stand by and let them increase our taxes again. And the sad part is we will. The satate government will threaten to have to get rid of "social" programs i.e. SUPPORTING ILLEGALS with free health care (which I cannot get, and free education which if I want my kids to get a good one I have to pay EXTRA to put them in private school because CA can't run the school system either) and many will start screaming about how "unfair" that is. And they will scream it until they have sucked us all dry. Oh yeah, lets not forget that even WITHOUT the local city and exhorbitantly high Los Angeles County taxes, CA also has the highest sales tax of any state at 8.25% compared to the next highest which is 7%. So why don't you tell us Arnie, how much more do you want us to give to you to waste? How much will it take for you and your social activist regime to say "Enough"? HOW MUCH ARNIE???????????
Johannes, San Jose, CA says:
We all know that the money will never be repaid since the state is broke. But taking this money was never voted on so it is illegal. The state needs to make cuts in its service to balanc the budget, not increase taxes.
Jack, Sacramento, CA says:
This is totally illegal. The States and the Federal Government can tax us without our permission, let's take them to court...! They say it's a loan, are they going to give us interest?
Eric, San Francisco, CA says:
I am a 20 year old college student who lives on his own, pays his own bills, and has to find a way to pay for college all at the same time. I cannot afford to live with this additional 10% taken off my wages. I have to apply for food stamps now! Thanks America! All for a bill that makes no sense to begin with. You have to pay us back anyways, isn't that only ADDING to the debt? When it comes tax season we're just going to get more I.O.U.'s anyways since the state seems to find ways to spend my money quicker than I can make it. YOU ARE ADDING TO THE PROBLEM!
Rick, Oroville, CA says:
you are distroying our lives and leaving the poor much poorer. You will have your day. you will be sleeping under a box Schwartzneggar. Who will pity you??
Joyce, oroville, CA says:
Obama and Swartsnegger are both bringing about later day prophecy. and apparently doing it willingly. even if the alternative were death, they still had freedom of decision. They will Rape the public, and cause them to suffer at any cost. even to themselves.
Casey, Redwood City, CA says:
Have you no shame? How low can you sink as an elected representative of the people of California? Have you no conscience? Self respect?
Terry, La Honda, Ca says:
Enough already
Irene, Mountain View , California says:
As individuals we all must live within our budgets. I know the cuts will have to be deep but it can not be avoided.
Tim, cardiff, ca says:
If California were a business most all of you would be; 1. fired and 2. indicted for fraud, and/or misfeasance and/or malfeasance or 3. already in jail
Wend, FRESNO, CA says:
We have done our job, and paid our taxes. However, you have not been fiscally responsible. You have no right expecting to double dip the wages of the hard working, tax paying citizens of this state.
M, Castro Valley, CA says:
Believe it or not, Constitutionally, taxes are voluntary. Taking 10 percent from our earned money is unconstitutional (remember that little document?). Yes, the IRS practices more than one violation of our Constitution! Let's not open these flood gates to California. I could go on, but you get the idea. Do not allow the people of CA to be pillaged by this government any more--Let the government retain some fiscal responsibility and actually budget the many dollars they already receive. Current history proves they will keep taking and continue to spend without care, as long as new source of money is upon them. If 10 percent is ok then why not 25%, 50%? Why allow the little people to earn money at all? Just send the entire earned money to the government and let them divvy out coupons or bread crumbs to the peasants!!! Think about where this is leading . . . Please do not allow this to happen!
Steve, Simi Valley, California says:
Stop wasteful spending for welfare and stop funding or giving free medical care to illegal's..... Take back the state and help the people who are here legaly......
Sam, Redondo Beach, California says:
meet with tax paying citizens and disregard the illegals and free loaders
Yana, Alameda, CA says:
No more tax!
John Swank, Fresno, Calif. says:
This is crazy. This should be a tax on the SEIU and a reduction in university and government workers. Take it out of their union dues. This state needs to fire the politiacans and regroup. Starting with illegals!!! There is no water for farmers to grow crops on the West side so why feed these people who won't find work?? This is Obama style Rwanda rule.
Jessica, Vista, CA says:
This is soooo ridiculous! They are doing this WHILE raising UC school cost's by $900!!!! Why do they continue to raise the cost of EVERYTHING in times of economic chaos??? Don't they realize we are scrapping by on pennies while they are wearing designer clothes and driving expensive cars...?
Michael, La Crescenta, CA says:
No you cannot steal my money!
Juli, copperopolis, CA says:
It is time to get some new people in office!! People who would do more for us then for themselves!!
Dean, San Jose, CA says:
Us real private sector working people are getting taxed to death. Meanwhile our law makers are spending money like drunken sailors with credit cards. This has to stop!
Edwin, STOCKTON, CA says:
When the Voters of this state put you in office. It wasn't for you to give yourself a rise and get paid when you put us as a state deeper in the hole. It took you months to put a budget together. As the leaders of this state, you shouldn't of been paid all those months. You take from the common workers of this state, the poor and middle class. And then give big business break after tax break. You spend billions of tax dollars on those who aren't even Americans. [Well Fare]. I would like to see the state government officers pay themselves the basic wages the common worker and poor get paid. Cause all of you in Sacramento state government are getting paid to much. How about you rise you tax's. Thanks EESW
Gerry, Walnut Creek, California says:
California has had enough. How dare you do this! It's against our Constitution. It's time to clean up California and Washington. Can't wait for the election in 2010 and then in 2012. Everybody get out your mops and brooms.
Gerry, Walnut Creek, California says:

Margaret, Morrow, Ca. says:
You so called politicians make wrong decisions on spending the taxes that you are draining us with, and then we have to pick up the tab? Are you all insane? That's a hard one to answer!
Calvin, Visalia, CA says:
I'm with Jerry from Anaheim- I live paycheck to paycheck, barely managing to put into savings, scraping by and living RESPONSIBLY, and am not sure how I am going to deal with this additional money taken out of my checks. Sure it's just withholdings, but when it comes to my refund later I'll probably just get an IOU. Gee thanks, CA, you've already been cutting the budget for education which might cost me my job next year, now you're going to make it hard for me to save for the worst!
Cand, El Granada, ca says:
Just one more betrayal of the people of California. Yet once again we pay for the excesses of government. Yet once again the people especially the middle class shoulder burden as our life, Liberty and pursuit of happiness is destroyed little by little.
Jerry, Anaheim, Ca says:
I think we pay enough taxes. An extra 10% out of my paycheck would amount to me losing an extra $40 a week. That's $160 a month, $1920 a year. As someone who lives paycheck to paycheck as most people do. That puts an incredible strain on already tight finances. Especially in this tight economy I believe it is unfair to take that much money from us.
Jonathan , Stanton , CA says:
I am a realtivly new voter. I have had the privalage for about to years. But honestly when I see decissions that affect not just laws or taxes, but ones pay check directly without any choice. I really do wonder how we call this a democracy. This is just unjust, everyone struggels during the Christmas season. And another twenty dollars out of anyones pay check is a unnecessary burrden.
Craig, Pleasanton, Californica says:
STOP STOP STOP SPENDING MY/OUR MONEY; LIKE DRUNKEN SELFISH FOOLS ONLY LOOKING TO GET THE FAVOR OF VOTERS WHO DO NOT PAY MUCH TAX !!! STOP IT !!
Joe, Chicago, Illinois(we are broke too) says:
I'm here in support of my fellow citizens of California,I think the "government " of California has taken a very dangerous step, and a unconstitutional one at that!It seams that across this country local governments have been spending our money faster than they can collect it.Who is holding their purse strings? if they can just retroactivly raise our taxes without voting on it they subvert the democratic principals that we live and die for.I say to Californians "make our vote count next election!"get rid of the tax and spend politicians.
Marty, San Diego, California says:
Keep Marijuana medical, and tax the co-op Cannabis stores properly...instead of screwing the people keeping California running day in and day out.
Rex Von Nothdurft, Clovis, CA says:
Californian's are already taxed too heavily. I'm barely surviving for you to do this. There's plent of money coming from us already. Figure it out another way, with out getting a bailout from the Federal Govt. Currently there has got to be money wasting somewhere. Find it, and release to where it is supposed to be going.
Vivian, Tustin, California says:
It's unfair because we are already in a crisis and we are already stretching every penny as far as we can and if you take that extra 10% from us how can you expect us to really survive on what you guys leave us with. So that is why I vote NO on you people!!!!
Clarence, Walnut Creek, California says:
This is directed to "The People", not the politicians. Until we, The People, wise up and quit re-electing these professional politicians back into office nothing will change! It's really our fault because we sit on our hands and keep voting them back into office. GET MAD AT THE POLLS - VOTE ALL OF THEM OUT!
Susan, vallejo, ca says:
if you need an explanation then we are in really bad shape...
Matt Calkins, Nor Cal, California says:
Isabel from Whittier seems to be a good example of how the California nightmare is destroying the American dream. People like her have clawed their way up only to be beat down by taxes.
Matt, Calkins, California says:
This state wastes so much money on people that aren't productive members of society, then steals from those who are to pay for it. Does this make any sense? Not to me! Jails are overcrowded with people who will never be rehabilitated, so why keep them alive? I don't want them alive, yet I pay to feed and care for them. Bring back the death penalty, problem solved. The welfare/food stamp system sucks. Every time I go to the grocery store around the middle of the month it's full of people capable of working, yet too lazy, buying name brand items that I can't afford. They whip out those food stamps without hesitation. Something else that is raping my wallet is spending on illegal aliens, Mexicans particulaly. They do not care about this country, they have no pride in it, they refuse to learn the language, they reproduce like rabbits on Viagra, they bring drugs, violence, filth and poor living conditions into our communities, and what do we do? Cater to them! Give them all kinds of programs that they take advantage of, but don't better themselves! It's ridiculous! People come here from all over the world for an opportunity to make an honest living for themself and many do. But the Latin crowd just doesn't care.
Craig, Castro Valley, Ca says:
Why would you raise income taxes but not cut spending on illegal aliens? You continually spend out of control and then expect the people to pick up the slack with their hard earned money while sit in a comfortable chair in a comfortable building and get payed more than most of us.
Kevin, Dublin, Ca says:
Why the hell should I pay this along with the extortionist taxes I already pay to this profoundly disfunctional state. Having been born in California and lived here my entire life, it disgusts me what has been done to my beautiful home state. The idiots that have been elected here have run what used to be the 5th largest economy in the world into the ground and forced many good citizens and businesses out of state. When are Californians going to learn that the social experiment called liberalism does not work and vote for government that is not going to redistribute its wealth or steal from one group to give to another. That the group you steal from will either quit working ... or quit the state.
Isabel, Whttier, California says:
I am a latina who beat the odds in life. I grew up poor, but worked hard, went to college and now at age 35 I have a nice career, and I have to say that if the government is going to keep taxing me (penalizing me for "making too much money) I would rather STOP working hard just get by and pay less taxes and go on welfare. It DOES NOT PAY to move up the ladder of success in this country anymore. The IRS already takes $1000 every paycheck, I cant afford a house and I have school loans...STOP THE TAX MADNESS!!! LETS BRING BACK THE AMERICAN DREAM! Get these crap politicians OUT of office NOW!
Audrey, Downey, CA says:
We, the people, did not do this to the state. The legislators and the governor did this and now they want us to pay for it. We. the people, cannot afford to have even 5%, much less 10% taken. How are we supposed to survive? Why don't they take a 30-50% pay cut? They can afford it better.......
Rose Steffen, Oceanside, Ca says:
Ok. You people need to stop taking money like it's nothing. We have to live too you know! Just because your living in high places doesn't mean you can treat us like crap! It's already bad enough that we have to pay high tax and now this? GIVE ME A BREAK! GROW UP PEOPLE! God is more fair than this. I am sick of you taking money just because you think you can! I'm just sick of it! Leave us alone!!!!!
Sophie, Glendale, California says:
No more! That's enough!
Britteny, FRESNO, CALIFORNIA says:
YOU ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH MONEY, WHY DONT YOU TAKE PAY CUTS, MAJOR PAY CUTS. YOU GUYS ARE NOT THE VOICE OF US PEOPLE BECAUSE THIS WOULDNT HAVE EVEN BEEN MENTIONED. YOU JOB ISNT EVEN THAT DIFFICULT, SO FINE A NEW WAY TO MAKE MONEY
Erin, Santa Maria, California says:

Nj, river pines, ca says:
I am sick and tired of having my hard earned money pilfered by corrupt self serving politicians, only to be re-distributed to their criminal corporate associates!
Emily, santa clara, ca says:
first off its hard enough to even find a job around here and then when we get the job your going to take more away from us and our families i dont think so just because you have messed up and put us into debt doesnt mean you can make our lives even more difficult i have an idea why dont you take from your paycheck im sure you have plenty of money to go around
Jay-paul, Laguna Niguel, CA says:
we are already the highest tax state in the nation. we have the worst business climate of any state, if you want to fix our economy slash the state work force, get rid of the illegals, work to reduce the unions stranglehold on Sacramento, and oh yah recall anthony adams!
Bryan, Sacramento, ca says:
Cool site, hope it works!
James, South San Francisco, California says:
You politicians have driven too many businesses from this state so now you have to rob the regular people Have you no shame!! Your honor as men and women charged with running our state has gone...so you all should do the same
Tim, Thousand Oaks, CA says:
First, Take matters into your own hands and immediately contact Human Resources at your place of employment and asking that your CA withholding amount be changed back to what it was before and they must comply. You may have to fill out a form to negate this free loan to the fiscally irresponsible state legislature. Second, send emails to your electred representatives and tell them to repeal this act of arrogance against the people of California. Third, vote for CA minded independent candidates that want to have a fiscally responsible state government.
Bre, Escondido, California says:
If they take 10% out of my paycheck as it is.... I will no longer be able to live in my own apartment... I will have to go and live with my mother... I used to love california, born and raised here, but this is just unfair. All of the government people are misusing money, not me. DON't punish ME because YOU guys can'y put your money towards an ACTUAL BORDER ass these illegal mexicans walked through.... this is bull.
Kim, valente, California says:
STOP Taking advantage of the american people.....HELP stimulate the economy NOT make the problem worst..
Joseph , Grass Valley, California says:
Its my money and I have worked for it! Raising taxes isn't going to fix the deficit problem how about making the system more efficient!
Neil, San Mateo, California says:
Sacramento wake up. Corporations reduce their budgets when things get tough inorder to stay in business. This also mean laying off staff if necessary. Well, you people were elected by the citizens of this great state to run it within it budget and need to keep making cuts to be in line with its income. Do not raise tax on pay checks because you want to steal interest free money from the hard working citizens of California. In fact, the citizens and corporations are paying to much in taxes which is driving out citizens and businesses which is reducing this state's income.
Casey, Sacramento, California says:
No I do not think this is fair, why should we come out of pocket even more for the things that can not be controlled for Homeless ppl who do not want to work for prisons who if they would do something about in the first place. then you have all the top hed ppl getting paid all this money when us as citizens are looked at being on the bottom this is just crazy insane, go get money from the ppl that are really making it BIG you know who im talking about. Thank you Casey Mejia
John, Moreno Valley, Ca says:
How can the gov't just arbitrarily take our money w/o any type of input from the citizens? Welcome to Ca..."a Police State"...whew...
Stephanie, Fresno, CA says:
Taking more money from taxpayers is not the answer, how about using money in the budge more properly?
James, Rancho Cucamonga, CA says:
I am living paycheck to paycheck as it is and our governor wants to take money from us. Its unfair that we have to pay for his inability to run our state, at least cast a vote and see what the people say. Last I checked we had that freedom!!!!
Lo, grand terrace, ca says:
This must stop . As an average person we are already in the poor house. How much more can we take Stop stealing from us.We don't need another tax increase.
Cassandra , Chico, ca says:
I think it is unfair and unreasonable to tax people during such a time of economic despair.
Cassandra , Chico, california says:
its hard enough times without the government taking another 10%
James, Castro Valley, CA says:
The voting public needs to wake up!The only way to fix this mess is to get these people out of office on a massive scale and get people in who aren't afraid of the media scrutiny they will surely get by doing the right thing. That is cutting taxes (yes, for the rich too, the ones who create the jobs), de-regulation, and cutting the incredible spending and waste coming from Sacramento. It's up to us, the voters, because the politicians will keep doing business as usual if they don't fear their jobs.
Arnold, baldwin park, ca says:
the simple solution to solve the never ending spending by city, state and federal goverment will be to get all of them out of office and then limit the term they have in office to steal taxpayers money.
Phillip, San Jose, CA says:
It's hard times, every dollar counts. You need to find away to help people with out costing them an arm and leg. No car allowances for politicians you get a check pay for your car like everyone else. 1 suggestion.
Amanda, San Diego, CA says:
Please tell me how you sleep at night Sacramento!
Mykaela, Clovis, CA says:
I already am having a tough time with money i dont need anymore. If the government can't figure it out tax yourselves not the people, you are the ones that made the mistake.
Susan, Calabasas, California says:
I am tired of all the social programs being funded by the people who pay the most taxes... STOP ALREADY!
